World Lore

Devi in Dia

Red Devi were made by Zaradan, black Devi by Odi, and white Devi by Balile. In Devi language these lines are Zadevi, Odevi, and Aldevi.

The most common Devi, red Devi are 3 to 3.2 meters tall, horned, bristled, tusked, and physically aggressive. Their society is largely matriarchal, with women often handling trade and politics.

Shorter and rarer, black Devi live deep in carved mountain settlements with elaborate lift systems. Their society is communal, mining-focused, and known for echoing work-song magic performed with anvils and tools.

The rarest Devi are enormous, wise, peaceful, sun-touched wanderers. Their dead bodies make the surrounding land bloom, which has made them targets for hunters. Only one known tribe remains.
